Plant: Amorphophallus konjac
Konjac is a perennial plant from the Araceae family. Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, it also grows naturally in Japan, Vietnam, China and Korea.
Konjac grows from a very large tuberous rhizome (3 to 4 kilos). It is this rhizome which is reduced to powder, which is then transformed into a sponge using ancestral Asian know-how.
Konjac is also used in South Asian foods, in the form of flour or pasta.
Composition
Natural Konjac powder enriched with purifying active vegetable charcoal.
Usage tips
Moisten the Konjac sponge, wring it out, run it lightly with soap if you wish. Gently massage your face using light circular movements. Rinse.
When your Konjac is out of use, you can compost it. It is biodegradable.
100% plant-based and natural, compostable, the Konjac sponge is part of a waste reduction approach.
Conservation Tips
To take care of your Konjac, you should rinse it well, wring it out (without twisting it) and hang it up after each use. Its lifespan will therefore be two to three months, for use morning & evening.
